Posted By Topic: Re-routing mains from pole to underground.

Aug 26 2017 11:57

A customer has erected a new garage at the front of his property, he wants to reroute the main feeder from the pole to an underground system into the garage.

He wishes for the garage to house a new MSB and metering internally, the current MSB in the original house will become a DB.

The house contains a mixture of old rubber insulated cabling and new tps. If the suggested works are to proceed am I now obligated to replace all old cabling with new tps?

As long as you are not doing any work on the old TRS circuits no need to upgrade them, although it would be good practice to advise the customer of the state of the TRS wiring
