Are we allowed to use the European 2 round pin round plugs with sliding earths in NZ. There appears to be a lot of equipment coming in with this type of chords interconnecting parts. Do the plugs need to be changed?

Tha depends .
eg whether the item is a DMRA or DHRA.
Also refer ESR 23 (1)(e)

If you are talking about an item that is part of a machine as a whole, say an Auto Hopper Loader attached to a Hopper Dryer that feeds plastic into an extruder/blow moulder etc, and all items are being supplied at their rated voltage/frequency, it would be no different to the items maker using a proprietary plug and socket.

If you mean leaving the Euro plug on the main supply lead and using a travel adapter to enable it\'s use from a standard outlet, then I\'d say not (and that\'s Energy Safety\'s position too)
