I understand solar installs must comply with 4777, 5033 and 3000

Looking at citations we should be using 3000:2007 and 5033:2012 but only part 1 of 4777:2005 is cited in the ESRs

How do I know if 4777.2 and 4777.3 2005 are the versions I should be using or 4777.2 2015? Or are these standards only relevant to manufacture and not have anything I need to know for installing?

AS/NZS 4777.1 contains the additional material to that stated in AS/NZS 3000 for the grid-connect inverter installation.

AS/NZS 4777.2 contains grid-connect inverter design matters which are NOT mandated in NZ. It may contain information had may be of assistance only. It containes NO NZ mandated requirements.

AS/NZS 5033 contains the additional material to that stated in AS/NZS 3000 for the PV array.

It has been ruled previously by Energy Safety, that the requirements of the mandated copy AS/NZS 4777.1:2005 must be complied with and any additional material in later editions of AS/NZS 4777.1 may be adopted when installing the grid-connected inverter.

Surely it is the role of Energy Safety to answer questions and provide interpretations where required.
I find the concept that Energy Safety make Rulings to be disturbing. Especially as you generally can’t rely on them to be consistent or correct.
